About the 1st book

The Bridge Builder

What if the child once labelled “different” grows up to transform healthcare systems?
What if the very traits society feared became the fuel for extraordinary achievement?

The Bridge Builder is a provocative, deeply emotional memoir that dismantles long-held beliefs about neurodevelopmental differences, cultural barriers, and the meaning of success. From a bullied child in Malaysia—misunderstood, underestimated, and pathologized—to a multi-award-winning psychiatrist shaping the future of British mental health care, Dr. Achuthan’s story is as disruptive as it is inspirational.

This book exposes uncomfortable truths about education, parenting, and medicine—inviting readers to see brilliance where the world often sees deficiency. Through raw honesty and powerful reflection, it becomes more than a life story; it becomes a manifesto urging society to rethink how we define intelligence, behaviour, and potential.

Prepare for a narrative that challenges your assumptions, stretches your perspective, and celebrates the mind’s limitless capability to rise, rebuild, and redefine.

Unmasking Autism:

The Cross-Cultural Revolution in Adult Assessment

Most clinicians miss autism in adults—particularly women, culturally diverse populations, and those with sophisticated masking strategies. This groundbreaking training manual exposes the uncomfortable truth that Western-centric assessment models fail countless individuals while providing the most comprehensive, evidence-based framework available today.
Drawing from decades of cross-continental clinical expertise, Drs. Achuthan and Barker challenge everything you thought you knew about adult autism assessment. Their revolutionary approach combines 50 meticulously detailed chapters covering complex differential diagnosis, gender-specific presentations, and cultural adaptations that standard protocols ignore.
This isn’t just another autism manual—it’s a complete paradigm shift. You’ll master sophisticated assessment techniques for masked presentations, navigate complex comorbidities, and identify autism others miss entirely. With extensive case examples, step-by-step protocols, and over 100 research citations, this training transforms diagnostic practice.
For psychiatrists, psychologists, and specialist teams ready to elevate their clinical expertise beyond conventional approaches, this manual provides the advanced skills to recognize autism’s true diversity and deliver life-changing diagnoses to previously overlooked populations.
